Impala
The impala is a moderately sized buck that inhabits savanna grasslands and woodlands in close proximity to water sources. The male's horns are strongly ridged and their arch-like structure allows interlocking of horns, which helps a male throw off his opponent during a fight and also protects the skull from damage. Impalas have been nicknamed the "McDonalds of the bush" because of their large herd sizes and the "M" marking on their rears.
